14 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati

This seems to be a very easy Web site to navigate and so interesting to visit.I am not sure I want to jump into the middle and be rated and visited by all the rest of Blogger world. I think this would tie me to the computer even more.In the library world it has merit perhaps for those questions about up to the minute interest in films and books. The student that is doing issues related assignments may find value in the ranking of news items around the the world that never make it into the Australian media.
If I had time I would use this at home with reservations

13 del.icio.us / search

Thought this would be very helpful for home/work computers and the odd time you need to dash into an alien library to use the internet. You get stuck in New Zealand and need some discount accomodation quickly and your bookmarks are on your home computer. Just log in to del.icio.us and you have a bed for the night It is like a mini Google with people doing the search in the subjects that interested me.A little like Clusty. As I secondary point I felt "Social Bookmarking in Plain English" was a great example of excellent teaching qualities.
I joined up ,found the buttons on my computer, checked several search subjects and sometime will need to place and tag my favourties onto this web site.http://thoughtsbycaro.blogspot.com/
(Is this ok ?) scared me off when she mentioned the need to clean up all the existing favourites that may have died a natural death many months ago.

11 Library Thing

What A great tool.I am beginning to think my whole life is sitting in a little box in the lounge room. The potential for this is powerful. This has the potential to widely impact on the cataloguing of the future and also make my messy home library into an effeciently shelved storehouse of accessible knowledge

Exercise 10 - Letter Man and other captions

Tried captions on the photos and felt it tested your creativity rather than your technological skills. Tried putting captions on bill boards but the site did not take the text as it thought I was being rude, ( but I wasn't really ). Tried the captions on a delft plate, and trying to post it on my blog. ( not so easy ) Think the captions could have a place in the display area to inject a humorous element, but who's going to adjudicate?
